Canesten Skin Powder is indicated for fungal infections of the skin caused by dermatophytes, namely interdigital mycoses, on the hands and feet (eg: tinea manuum, tinea pedis known as "athlete's foot"), pityriasis versicolor (more or less round spots, with hypopigmentation or hyperpigmentation, most often on the chest or back, and may scale slightly). Canesten Skin Powder is also indicated for the prophylaxis of recurrent fungal infections of the intertriginous areas of the skin, in particular athlete's foot.
Active substance: Each gram of skin powder contains 10mg of clotrimazole.
Dosage and method of administration:
Adults and children: Canesten cutaneous powder should be applied to the area to be treated, dusting it, two to three times a day. In the case of athlete's foot, it should also be sprinkled on socks and shoes, in order to absorb moisture and prevent reinfection. Can be used after application of Canesten Cream or Canesten Skin Spray Solution. Duration of treatment: intertriginous mycoses 3-4 weeks and pityriasis versicolor 1-3 weeks.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. When applied to the intertriginous areas, close to the genital area, it can reduce the effectiveness and safety of latex-based products such as: condoms and diaphragm. The contraceptive effectiveness of vaginal spermicides may also be reduced. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
